Many brides these days register at multiple places, and have multiple showers. The happy couple is picking places to register that ‘make sense’ …. For example, some register at Home Depot knowing they will need alot of those things for a new home; Many register at Target because they carry great small appliances and a variety of other things. And, now, many are registering at direct sales companies such as Private Quarters so they get high quality products at the best prices while at the same time accumulating host credit for more free products, half priced items and 60% off or more items – and, working with and helping a small business person support their family at the same time.
How does it work? Easy! The happy couple meets with the direct sales representative and picks out the items they would like – they get to touch and feel the products, ask questions of a very knowledgeable sales person, get advice and what will best fit in with their lifestyle and color schemes. Then, the person ‘hosting’ the shower schedules it and sends out invitations. The invitations are very specific – that this is a ‘bed and bath shower’ and please do not bring any presents! The Private Quarters rep will be at the shower, do a short 20-25 minute presentation, and then people will get to each socialize for awhile. (The representative will forward them an online link so people can get an idea of what they would like to purchase as well, or in case people who cannot attend do wish to purchase. In addition, a knowledgeable rep will also have video on their website explaining the products, benefits and options – of course, that is never as good as in person, but much better than either a catalog or just a website).

After the presentation, people will come over to the representative, and make their selection – for the bride and groom, as well as for themselves if they so wish. Since 15% off the total purchased goes back to the bride and groom so they can use that credit to obtain items that were on their registry that were not chosen, it is another way to ‘add’ to their gift while getting something for themselves. The Private Quarters rep is prepared with cards & pictures of the items on the registry – and when the guest chooses their purchase, the PQ rep will take that card & picture, note on it who it is from, and place it in an envelope.
When the party is ready for the ‘gift opening’, the PQ rep will present the bride and groom with their envelopes and they ‘open’ them! 1st, everyone has already seen the products so that saves time. 2nd, the bride and groom are getting exactly what they want! And 3rd, the bride and groom do not need to worry about how to get everything home and where to store it for now. After the shower, the Private Quarters consultant (we are called Comfort Specialist for a reason), will let the bride and groom know how much free product they are entitled to, and determine with them what they wish to use that for. In addition, they will be entitled to half priced items and 60% off items they can choose to purchase (or have specific friends or family purchase for them) as well. All the gifts will be nicely shipped together to wherever the bride and groom wish! (Any additional products ordered by the guests can either be shipped directly to those guests or shipped to the bride and groom for pickup depending on what the guest and bride & groom determine best).
